Reid Park in Mosman has officially opened its newly upgraded playground, offering a fun, safe, and inclusive space for children of all ages and abilities. The revitalised playspace includes an interactive nature play area, accessible play equipment, soft-fall rubber surfacing, and a large shade sail for sun protection, making it a welcome addition to the local landscape.
Mosman Mayor Ann Marie Kimber led the official opening, joined by fellow Councillors, State Member for North Shore Felicity Wilson, Mosman Council staff, and representatives from the organisations involved in designing and building the playground.
The opening follows the successful completion of the project and its first public use during the opening weekend in April.
Community feedback was key in shaping the final concept, ensuring the design reflects local needs and encourages active, imaginative play.
Mosman Council and the NSW Government proudly funded the project under the Local Small Commitments Allocation—Playground and Park Upgrades program.
Mayor Kimber said the new playground provided a contemporary and inclusive place for children and their families to enjoy.
“The playground upgrade was developed in consultation with the community, with valuable ideas and feedback incorporated into the design. It’s wonderful to see our young residents now enjoying this revitalised space.”
