What is bulk billing?

Bulk billing means you don’t have to pay for your medical service from a health professional. The medical centre bills Medicare, and they accept the Medicare benefit as full payment for the service.

How do you get bulk billed?

Remember to take your Medicare Card with you to the appointment so that Medicare covers the full amount. You will usually not have to pay anything at the time of the appointment. If you are required to pay, Medicare will refund it in full soon after.

What if my child is sick late at night?

If your child is sick after hours (at night or during the weekend), you can use the National Home Doctor service, which is also bulk-billed. Simply call 13 SICK (13 7425) or visit their website.
