Online Safety: Tips to protect your child
If sharing your photos on Facebook or Instagram, please protect your child’s privacy by following these safety tips.
- Ensure the background doesn’t give away your address or location. Don’t post your location or ‘check in’.
- Keep the logo on your child’s uniform covered (you can get your child to hold the First Day of School poster to cover the logo on their uniform)
- Check your privacy settings. Ensure your social media accounts are secure and set to private or ‘friends only’
- Checking the privacy settings on the device you are using
- If another person is taking photos of your child, discuss how the images will be used and how they will be shared
- Keep your child’s personal information, including full name and age, private.
